Description: Regular customers will have noticed that we're big fans of the animal illustrator Cecil Aldin here at Printable Heaven. Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935) was a British artist and illustrator who was known best for his beautiful animal paintings although he also he also produced sports paintings, village and rural scenes. He is most commonly connected with dog pictures and you may already have seen or purchased our Dozen Dogs or So sets which feature some fantastic doggy images. We've called this set 'Perfect Pets', perhaps not because the pets themselves are perfect but the images themselves - when have you seen lovelier images than the gorgeous pink Cockatoo or the soulful looking Fox Terrier? Nearly all of the images in this set are by Cecil Aldin although we've snuck another couple in which we think are equally as good - check out the parrots, budgies and kitten & puppy images. Description: Introducing Whiskers and Wagtail - a gorgeous ginger tom and cheeky, lovable dog! This set contains 30 sheets that even includes printable card blanks to enable you to make fabulous cards that everyone is bound to love. Not only are there motifs and pyramage in this set but there is also fantastic DECOUPAGE that can be used alone or with the larger images from the motif sheets which have been sized to fit them perfectly. We've included a few layers on the decoupage sheets but you can use or omit as many of them as you like, it's up to you. Description: Oliver Herford (1863-1935) was a British born (but American) humourist writer and illustrator who is well known for his poems and quotes as well as for his artwork for books and magazines.nn The images used in this set are from his book 'The Kitten's Garden of Verses' which was first published in 1911. The pictures are very subtle and interesting - mainly pencil-drawn with just a little colour.nn This set includes motif sheets, pyramage, large pyramage, background panels and backing papers. Louis Wain was a prolific cat artist who produced hundreds of pictures for children's books and postcards. At the age of 23, Wain married his sisters' governess, Emily Richardson, who was ten years his senior (which was considered quite scandalous at the time), and moved with her to Hampstead in north London. Emily soon began to suffer from cancer, and died only three years into their marriage. During her illness, Emily was comforted by their pet cat Peter, and Wain taught him tricks, such as wearing spectacles and pretending to read, in order to amuse his wife. He began to draw extensive sketches of their large black and white cat and it was this that was to define his career. Wain's cats got progressively more human as time went on, performing more antics and occasionally wearing clothes - and publishers loved it! Wain achieved considerable success with his pictures although his lack of business sense through selling pictures outright (rather than getting royalties each time they were used) meant that he ended up with very little. As well as the work of Louis Wain, this set also features Arthur Thiele, another prolific cat artist, and also Harry Neilsen who illustrated children's books.
